S1E1 – Death below surface
As detectives Xavi Bonet and Fina Valent investigate the mysterious death of a diver, they uncover a dangerous web of greed and corruption linking politics, business and organised crime in Barcelona. At the same time, Xavi comes under personal pressure when his father appears to have links to the city’s most feared underworld boss. Meanwhile, Fina is fighting on a second front: her 15-year-old daughter has run away with a violent young man.
S1E2 – Above water
Inspector Fina Valent gets off to a very rocky start in her partnership with her new partner Xavi Bonet – and the enigmatic series of murders into which they are immediately thrown does little to make things easier for the taciturn Catalan. The investigation into a beach robbery and the murder of an illegal street vendor takes the pair deep into Barcelona’s underworld, where they find themselves caught between ruthless criminals and a powerful godfather. As time is running out to prevent an impending tragedy, Xavi’s private life leaves him vulnerable – and puts both partners in serious danger.
